It's more common than people realise, just because a woman (or a man for that matter) doesn't go out with visible bruises doesn't mean it isn't happening. It's a cultural change that victims seek what is probably revenge and possibly compensation. Most just get on and rebuild their lives vowing not to make the same mistake again.
