The other day on Rip-Off Britain (3/10/18) their computer expert put a ‘word’ into Google, and it came back with many sites where you could buy people’s personal credit details.

He said the ‘word’ was criminal slang for identity theft, and I’d like to know what the word is, in order to go to one of these sites and check what they’ve got on me!

Any clues as to what the current criminal slang word for identify theft/allied activities is?

No, it wasn’t on the ‘Dark Web’ - this was in full view on the normal web.

Phishing?
You can't find that sort of information, bainbrig, on the sellers' lists. They advertise a job lot of details without listing the specifics so you wouldn't be able to search for your name.

Well, on the programme (and I know it’s half-rigged) the geezer got straight on to a site selling details, but it didn’t show how he got to the name & details of the victim, which were displayed on his screen.

I’d like a look at such a site, mainly to spur myself on to even greater security measures!

Watch it on catch-up if you’ve got a spare half hour. Not much new, except for the criminals feeling so secure they can operate on the open web.
