Did'nt want to hijack Bainbrigs post re printer inks so started a fresh one. Car spare parts are another arena where this question arises, especially body panels. OE parts normally fit with minor if any tweaking. Pattern or aftermarket parts can be an entirely different scenario, cheaper yes, longer to fit yes.
