You can can download actual programs from the iPlayer and store them on your phone / tablet (before you go) and then watch them.

I did this on a recent cruise where I watched some programs on my tablet that I downloaded before I went on the cruise.

You can only download from iplayer and All 4. I have heard that the BBC have got wise to VPNs and iplayer doesn't work with many of them now (for streaming). I think it still works with VPN nord

Was able to receive BBC 6 o’clock news whilst away in Greece recently via internet and app ( TVCatchup ) I was only interested in the days headlines. Managed to get it for quiet a few days, then got an error message “ not available in your region “
