This is a fascinating assertion, which could also have been placed under the headings of news or politics, but I'm placing it here because both protagonists are leaders of world religions;

I haven't watched the video but I always feel that the Dalai Lama speaks from the heart and believes what he says is the truth, he comes across as a very intelligent and caring person.

The Pope says what the Catholic Church tells him to say, I don't think that he, himself, is a bad person but he works for a really dodgy organisation.
By definition, no.
Khandro, I watched the video, but most people won't. If you want to promote discussion you really need to provide a short synopsis. I don't know about the Dalai Lama being more Christian than the pope but he's certainly more sensible.

For those who can't watch the video, a brief synopsis; The Dalai Lama in Malmo has said (in a nutshell), that Immigrants should return to their countries of origin and do everything humanly possible to make those countries strong. He maintains that Europe is for Europeans and Asia and Africa are for Asians and Africans.
He says - with good reason - that nowhere in the bible does it advocate mass migration, In fact biblical texts point to the opposite.

Whereas, the Pope in his inimitable woolly way (my words) is doing nothing but encouraging people to flock into countries of which they have no understanding.

Is that a fair assessment naomi, - anything you can add?
Not really, Khandro. I thought the bit about foreigners being in other countries by invitation rather than by 'right', and obeying the laws of the land, appropriate.
Sorry, ^that could be misconstrued. When I said "Not really, Khandro", I meant there's not much I can add - not that it isn't a fair assessment.
the Dalai Lama can see the sense and logic in what he says, i think the pope is trying to show the churches altruism....not, kind of odd the catholic church in regard to contraception ie have babies you cannot afford to have let alone feed, if they die...well that's gods will, stinks of fatalism and also hypocrisy.
