My partner has her iTunes library, I have mine - both about 30Gb, similar with differences.

Are there any programs which will merge the two libraries and end up with one library, no duplicates, nothing missing - automatically?

So far, it seems TunesMate is an answer.

You transfer iTunes library from 1 computer to an ‘iDevice’, then the No.2 computer’s library, then the iDevice merges with NO duplicates, and that you can bounce back to a computer 1 or 2).

I.’ll report back!

iTunesMate (iMyFone) is not the answer! Maybe it is for Windows, but after a week struggling to get it working on my Mac, I’m on the verge of giving up.

I did give up - no use banging heads on walls - and they did give me my £25 back.

Now I’m trying powerTunes, which seems better, so fingers crossed...

The answer wasn’t through a bought-in program, but simpler.

You need an external hard drive with one library, and your main mac with the other library.

Unless you’ve got very few files to merge, you WILL need this ‘Dupin’ program, which costs about £11. It finds all the duplicates in your finished library, and then you choose the criteria for deleting duplicates, and they’re deleeted.

Whole kaboosh took about an hour, but only because I had two huge separate iTunes libraries.

PS The Kirkville instructions aren’t the BEST written ones on the web, but with care and a bit of brainwork, they can be followed!
