Why do postmen throw away so many elastic bands?
Whilst walking our dog I see so many elastic bands left by postmen. We even find them on our drive. Why can’t they just put them back in their bag or in a pocket.

I should think they are mostly dropped rather than thrown, but I agree they should take them away with them.

My Dad always did.

Lol, just read the article in the daily mail, thanks for the link murraymints.
The great majority of postmen own stocks in rubber companies. Sometimes the stocks shrink in value but they always seem to rebound in a snap...Anyway, that's the reason postmen strew them all over the place.
I have always said this, it irks me the mentality of people who just think they don't need summat then throw wherever just to get rid. The cost of replacing them thought the yer all over the country must be significant. Why can't they keep them and return them to base....ermmm answers on a postcard ...and questions too, to Rotten Mail Britain!!
The elastic retreat brings the close of play.
So kids can find them and make band balls
I would save them and recycle if there was somewhere to take them. Also they are a nuisance if you happen to step on one.
They are a hazard to birds and other wildlife too.
This always pees me off as well, especially with the danger to wildlife ...
