On the advert for McCafe, someone asks whats a flat white.
the first waitress McCafe worker says..2/3rds coffee, one third milk and one third foam.
Am I missing something or are there 4/3rds in a whole now.

That's the point.....

The pretentious and nonsensical mythology growing up around coffee and its' preparation.
what you're missing may be the joke?
Perhaps they're using a larger cup to accommodate the extra third:)

i think it's a joke as people struggle to describe it. eg micromcbubbles
You need a proper barista to answer that one. ;-)
true, sanmac, they may need the bigger cups when they turn their machines up to 11.
Tilly2, why bring the law into it?

"Am I missing something". Yes, a sense of humour.

Maybe they're giving 1/3 extra free.
