I have an Excel file on my laptop which I would like to transfer to my PC, I tried using a flashdrive but the only flash drive I have is for Windows 98, both PC and laptop are Windows 10. Will the flashdrive work or is there an easy way to transfer it. (Simple English please)

couldn't you save the file on onedrive? it could be opened on any computer then

It should work - try it and see.
I can't think of a reason why the windows version would make a difference to the flash drive. The obvious thing to do is try it and see.
Can you email it to yourself?

Thanks Never used Onedrive before. Flashdrive doesnt seem to be doing anything. Yes I tried e mailing it to myself. Kept saying there was a problem. Will keep trying, Thanks for help
Invest in a different flash drive ?
Unsure what you mean by it's not doing anything. You just copy to and from it.
format the flash drive, if it will not format, bin it as its probably faulty
Not sure what you mean by "is for Win98" as it is the file format that makes the difference. Anyhow try formatting it as suggested above, if it doesnt work buy another they are not expensive these days.

Be wary of using any 'drives' online. Ensure you read the small print first as in some cases you can end up giving up your rights.(Especially for photo's etc).
