Typical York cavalry charge to start the meet. Will be giving that a miss along with the Juddmonte Stakes. My old favourite Poet's Word runs in it and although I fancy it the price does not fit my idea of value. It has the heart of a lion and if I had to pick a "danger" it would be the aptly named Roaring Lion. With that in mind I have gone for a realistic e/w punt with minimum stakes.

Phoenix Of Spain @5/1 2,25
Sevenna Star @25/1 3.00
Soldier In Action @10/1 4.15
Ginger Nut @8/1 4.50 (enhanced place.)

50p E/W Acca. 4 X 20p E/W Trebles 6 X 20p E/W Doubles. £5.00 Stake possible £9.2k.

Wasn't having a pop.Canary and i took your question in the spirit it was intended. If you had put a pound on all of Togo's selections today, you'd be quids in. Dare say the same can't be said if you follow Newsboy, Templegate and the rest :-)
Totally unenamoured by today's meeting, so a change of tact from me as far as the betting goes. The Clarets aside (we wuz robbed, guv) i did have a bit of luck with a small near 16/1 acca in the europa League games, so i do have a bit extra to play with today.

£2.50 each way on Mukhayam @ 22/1 (boosted) in the opener
£5 win on Space Traveller @ 3.59/1 (boosted) in the 3.00
£5 win on Borodin @ 8/1 in the 4.50

And a £1 e.w. treble on the 3 @ 818/1. 3 placed = £26, 3 win = £845

Good luck all
Mine are certainly not tips, I couldn’t tip a wheelbarrow at the moment!

2.25 Y: St Michel

Morning Punters. Try again. The Jackpot has rolled over again so that will have to be done. Two odds on runners today that look nailed on, but you never know. It would be nice to see Stadivarius pick up the £1million bonus although I will not be including it in anything but the Jackpot.

*Pacify @9/1 1.55(enhanced place)
Stradivarius 2.25
*Shine So Bright @7/2 3.00
Battaash 3.35
*Sky Defender @6/4 4.15
*Mystic Flight @10/1 4.50

****£1.00 E/W Acca. 6 X 30p Doubles. 4 X 30p Trebles £1.00 Tote Jackpot. Total Stake £6.00. £1.6k and Jackpot share possible. Good Luck.

Morning Panky. Not had a look yet but it looks like an E/W day from what I saw of the fields yesterday. I take it you are working hence the early start. Good Luck.
Mark Johnstone has a few whose odds belie their form. Always an Interesting punt.

Chosen my poison. Note that the Jackpot has rolled over again so that will have to be done. Another point being, I see that Oison Murphy has opted to ride at Goodwood and James Doyle at Newmarket and both of them trek down to Windsor for the night meeting. Funny how the harder you work the luckier you get. May keep an eye on them later. Worth keeping an eye on whether the Jackpot goes today. If it does not there will be quite a big pool carried over, to perhaps Goodwood tomorrow, although the fields are small and invite the syndicates to lay permutations.

Zaaki 1.50
*Supernova @5/1 2.25
Expert Eye 3.00
*Saunter @14/1 3.40 (enhanced place)
*Chapelli @6/1 4.15

£1 Placepot&Jackpot. ****£1.00 E/W Acca. 4 X 20p E/W Trebles. 6 X 20p E/W Doubles Total stake £8.00 Possible £7.8k + P.Pot&J.Pots.
Afternoon guys and good luck. No work today so i've had longer to study. Which probably translates as, "I've taken longer to find my usual 4 losers." :-/ Still, no pain, no gain.

1.50 York; Mustashry @ 9/2
2.25 York; Making Miracles @ 7/1 (Rev f/c with Corgi)
3.15 Good; Vale Of Kent @ 11/2 (Rev f/c with Danielsflyer)
3.40 York; Whiskey Sour @ 6/1

Taken the lower prices for enhanced places. 20p lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = approx £34, 4 winners = £2,827

Also had £2.50 e.w. on Dylan Mouth @ 25/1 in the 3.40

Once again, good luck
Question for you guys. No doubt you take BOG but do you prefer your selection to be well backed (maybe instilling a tad more confidence in your choice) or do you, as i do, much prefer it to take a long walk in the market?
Question Author
Hopeless today. I would rather see a selection shorten and win Ken, that lengthen and go down. When the market makes either move the horse usually performs to reflect it I suppose.
Question Author
Just a heads up re the Tote Jackpot. It was not won again yesterday so £44.7K is rolled over to the first 6 races at Goodwood today. I think it may be worth a couple of quid. Perhaps a 64 bet perm in a 2X2X2X2X2X2.
