Tax payer to pay £2 million for security at Eugenie's wedding, because she has chosen St georges Chapel Windsor. Her Father insists this is going to be a huge Occasion, to be remembered by all, how about putting your hand in your own pocket Andy.

Of course Andrew should pay. Its a private wedding and he can more than afford it.
I know somebody who knows somebody who knows Andy (just a contact, not a friend) and he says Andy's really good at the business-ambassador thing he does - he's like his mother, never forgets a name or a face or a job, finds out what people need and puts them in touch with other useful people.
So in other words, JNO, he's quite a nice guy.

I think it's his wealth and privilege that offends others.
I don't think you can class it as a private wedding though as she is a Princess of the Realm.
There are probably rules she has to apply that would not be her choice therefore you can hardly call it private.
I don't know about nice (though he's always sounded to me like an amiable doofus at worst), but it may be wrong to assume he sits around all day doing nothing; he seems to be very professional.
Prince Andrew has made his money through the Stock market, investing in property and owning several London restaurants . He is worth millions. He has had to pay for security for his daughters for a number of years since Royal protection was withdrawn. I think it's about £500.000 year. I am not defending him but just pointing out where some of his money goes.
The two million pounds will not only cover security for the Queen and all the Royals but also the general public. There will be hundreds of plain clothes policemen dotted throughout the crowds as well as the more visible police.
It's the price we are having to pay for terrorism!
Jno, I believe he no longer h s th t job, he
Princess Anne kept her children private. No title no fuss and bother. Both work and don't need Royal protection . Yes they have a privileged life but so do many p
Y

Both work - as do Andrew's.
Dave! That is a wonderful clip........I hope The Windsors are going to do a special for the wedding......:-)
I think that they should nip down to Sidcup registry office..we did and it cost about £100....I don't believe she is any more important than I am.
Oops got cut off. Just saying many people also live a priveleged life like Anne's children . But neither of them had a Royal Wedding .Their Grandmother is the Queen but they did not use that to gave expensive public weddings . I so admire Princess Anne
I am no rayalist, but, at least princess Anne does work, and there is never any tabloid news her and her family .
Is it going to be on the telly? Have they signed up with Hello magazine (or whatever)? Big respect for Andy and his Falklands service but living off the state....at least his benefits are more than DSS
Eugenie does not do any 'work'' for the Royals, so I don't see why we should pay for extra security. It was Andrew who insisted his girls should be called 'Princess', Princess Anne had more sense. He's a very rich man, so he should pay i.m.o..
I seem to remember there was an outcry in Scotland when the Scottish government had to pay an extra £500,000 for security at Zaras wedding in Edinburgh.
mm at 10:10 you have hit the nail right on the head. He thinks he is just as important as Charles and his heirs who are much closer to the throne. I'll never forget him calling his two 'blood princesses'. I think it was a dig at the elegant Kate who knocks Andy's two into a cocked hat !!
Andrew has every right to call his daughters ---'blood princesses' seeing that they are from the male line. Anne's children would never have had the titles of Prince or Princess because they were from the female line. So she didn't actually decline to give them titles.
