We live at the end of a very short cul-de-sac - what potential problems can anyone see if we park a mini half-on and half-off the pavement outside our house (the postman already takes a short cut across the paved front area).

Can folk get past ?
Unsure what planning authorities think folk are supposed to do when they keep roads too narrow. Someone's always picked as scapegoat.

No one needs to get past - you'd only need to use the pavement to get to our house and I don't think the kids' friends will mind.

Minty - your link is just whirring around on my tablet. I wouldn't condone it on a pavement that's actually walked on and it's not going to be for ever (just until the other end of the drive is cleared of bikes, etc).
It's not an offence, per se, (or contravention', in those areas where parking enforcement has passed from the police to the local authority) to park on the pavement anywhere outside of London.

It's only an offence to obstruct a public footpath (which, from your post, it seems unlikely that you'd actually be doing).

So I can't see why you'd have any problems.

However there are always a few awkward neighbours, aren't there?

We live opposite a different awkward neighbour now (he seems to think he's in the right all the time because we rent). I can't see him saying anything as he has recently decided to pretend none of us exist.
