I'm going to do a parachute jump to raise funds for Longfield Hospice in Gloucestershire. The hospice is dear to me as they looked after my Vera and, indeed me. Vera was a patient there twice, I was a patient there once. I'm now an Ambassador and a volunteer for Longfield Hospice.
To do this, I need to raise a minimum of £400 to pay for the jump. Anything over that will go to the hospice. It costs north of £10,000 a day to run the hospice. Nobody is ever turned away.
There is no residential unit, but a Hospice at Home service is run. That means that the patient is in their own home with their loved ones around them. During the final few weeks, a dedicated nurse, matched to the family, will visit every day. Staying overnight if necessary, and will be there at the end to support the family and help them through that difficult time and help with everything that needs to be done.
So please help the Hospice to help those that are in need of their help.
As soon as I know when the jump will take place I will post it on here and in my Good morning early birds thread.
