Have a Dell Inspiron, running Windows 10.

I have just purchased a new camera which comes with an instructional CD.

When I put the CD into the computer it whirrs and whirrs and nothing happens. Have not used CD player for a while, but have updated the drivers and nothing happens. Any suggestions please.

Thank you

Check the disk in another PC, and check your PC with a known good CD.

music CD's play O.K. Is it possible CD is not compatible. It says on the CD (for Windows) Panasonic 2015. I only purchased the camera today so presumed the CD would work O.K.

when I click on the CD in Media Player, it says "this disc is empty". Presume it cannot be read!!
If you go to Panasonic's website:

https://www.panasonic.com/uk/

and click on "support" you will be able to download the information you want from there. I always download a copy of User Manuals for my cameras; I find it much more convenient than loading the CD. They are usually in pdf format and you can use the "search" facility to find the information you want.
If it's the instruction manual then Media Player won't find anything, use Windows Explorer to look at the disc
I think Fitzer might have solved it. The whirring is just the disc loading and what happens next depends on your settings ie, whether it does nothing or runs a particular program. Look in "My Computer", right-click on your CD player and "explore" or "Open".
Get the latest drivers straight from the camera manufacturers website they would probably be more up to date than the ones on the disk.
