If a bank says it’s going to send you a cheque within 28 days, is it 28 working days or 28 actual Days? Thanks.

In my experience any financial institution talking about 'days' is working days.
Working.
Surely if it means working days it should state so.

It'll probably end up being either 3 days or 6 weeks LOL.

“Payment will be made within the next 28 days.”

This is what was written.
Given that 28 is a multiple of 7, and not of 5, I would read "28 days" (in the absence of any other information) as meaning "4 weeks", rather than "28 working days".

However if your post refers to a PPI refund (or similar) then it might well turn out to mean 'working days'. Quote (from Barcalays):
"In most cases you’ll receive the refund within 7 working days – however in some cases this can take up to 28 working days . . . "

28 working days is a fairly meaningless concept ...

28 days is 28 days i.e. four weeks.

It’s not Barclays, and don’t get me started on them. They are the lowest of the low as far as banking is concerned.
