Never mind AOG, I'm sure we on CB will celebrate your 100th because you're so wonderful at putting the world to rights - you'll just have to be patient.
Why shouldn't we celebrate Gerry Adams. Thunderbirds gave lots of pleasure to many boys and girls. Captain Scarlet was good too.
Tsk Zacsmaster that was Gerry Anderson.

Why? //

Because he was an international figure. Lots of well-known foreigners are commemorated in Westminster Abbey.

And I believe all are Christian martyrs, was Mandela?
It's tough ZM, when your best work just goes whoooosh. :-)

SIG
absolutely, Canary, and if you mention your own 100th on here, I will happily raise a glass to you as well.
lots of foreign-born people buried in the abbey despite the fact that they undertook marriages of convenience with British people they hardly knew and never loved

Anne of Cleves, for instance.
aog, //And I believe all are Christian martyrs, was Mandela? //

He wasn't, but neither were all the others. Click on country here:

Did they light a ceremonial tyre?
I almost posted that link earlier Naomi - there's enough material there for a thread a day for a very long time.

There will always be memorials of one sort or another that don't sit well with us individually, we really have to lump it.
aog, if you took the trouble to click on my link you would see that there are over 3000 people buried in Westminster Abbey and others commemorated. Why bother to tell us about just ten of them?

What's the matter with you today madam are you rooting for a fight?

I did read your link and I had also previously found my link, which I posted to get my Christian Martyrs point over.
aog, I'm never rooting for a fight. I got your point the first time, but you were incorrect.
