Central heating:

£3000 to £4000 suggested here:
https://www.boilerguide.co.uk/articles/how-much-cost-install-central-heating

Roughly £4000 suggested here (as long as the tradesmen are working in an empty house, rather than working around a family living there):
http://buildingsheriff.com/central-heating-cost.php

£3500 to £4500 suggested here:
http://heatingforce.co.uk/blog/cost-installing-central-heating/

So perhaps £4k as a ballpark figure???

A new kitchen:

How long is a piece of string?

Around £8000 suggested here (excluding appliances and plus some possible additional costs):
https://householdquotes.co.uk/how-much-for-a-new-kitchen/

. . . but only £3000 for a basic kitchen suggested here:
http://www.homeadviceguide.com/a-guide-to-kitchen-installation-costs/

. . . whereas this site reckons on £5000 for a basic kitchen:
https://www.priceyourjob.co.uk/kitchen-suite-installation-cost/

Perhaps that £5k figure could be used as a very rough estimate???
For a combi boiler about £2,000 to £4,000. Depends on the size of the house

Again it depends on the size but we got our kitchen for £900 excluding appliances.

and what would the price of a re-wire be (if it were needed)?
Its a two bed ex LA semi
£2500, plus any plastering and decorating needed, suggested here:
https://householdquotes.co.uk/how-much-does-rewiring-cost/

This site seems to concur:
http://www.homeadviceguide.com/how-much-does-electrical-rewiring-cost/

This site suggests £3500 for 3-bedroom property in the south of the UK:
https://job-prices.co.uk/house-rewiring/
(Location could be important. Tradesmen in London often charge three or more times what you'd pay for the same job in north-east England).

Scrolling towards the foot of that page shows some actual prices that people have paid for the work.
