Right click on the cell you want the first date, then click 'Format cells'. Number tab should be selected by default, click on 'Custom'. In the type box delete 'General' and enter: ddd/dd/mm/yyyy click OK type in a date such as 11/06/2018. Date appears in cell as Mon/11/06/2018. Drag down and next cell will be Tue 12/06/2018 and continue consecutively.

If I put first date in cell A1 I would simply put "=A1+1" in cell A2
You’ll have to put 11.06.2018 in one cell and then 12.06.2018 in the next, so that it knows you want to do each day. You should then be able to drag the small green square and it will show consecutive days. You may have to format the cell to the date style you want.

if i just put as you said this works, I've done that from cell a1 then 2 and so on, but i'm looking to put mon, tues wed in before the date...then it seems to add the year dote not days/months.
As I said, you’ll need to format the date style.

perfect thank you.
You are welcome Ray. If you ever want the days displayed in full, just change the ddd to dddd this will display the date as Monday, Tuesday and continue consecutively. If you ever want the month displayed in full as actual words, change the mm to mmmm. Delete the forward slash's and leave spaces for the date to be displayed as: Monday 11 June 2018
good an swer kirsty
