Scroll to the
"How to unlock your phone" section, there is a table of costs there
This shop, based in Market Weighton, quotes between £25 and £65, with the time required varying between a few hours and a few weeks:

Market stalls might be cheaper but, as Baldric's link shows, it's generally cheaper (and quicker) to get the phone service provider to do it for you.
That's mainly for iPhone, Chris - Android is usually much cheaper
£6 at our town shop.
£20 to £30 at the local market
^^^ Good point, Dave. (I should learn to read things more carefully. I put it down to lack of alcohol!)

The market stalls I've seen advertising prices seem to suggest around £10 to £15 to unlock most phones but, given that many phone service providers now unlock phones for free, it's still hard to see why anyone would need to use a High Street service unless the phone is still within a contractual period where the service provider won't unlock it (or will charge a hefty fee to do so).
