Bt Decor 1300 Problem

Hi
I have two BT Decor phones - one in lounge and the other on a BT installed extension in bedroom. The lounge one loses the dial tone after 16 seconds even with new batteries installed. If I disconnect and reconnect the phone, the same happens. The newer, other phone upstairs stops working so I presume that one dodgy phone can affect the one on the extension ? The upstairs phone works fine if I use it in lounge with no phone upstairs.
I have given up trying to talk to BT :( Grateful for any help. Thanks.
(Meanwhile, I have now a cordless BT phone with rechargeable batteries )

If you bought the phones from BT then tell them if they do not sort it out you will refer the matter to trading standards.

They are both out of warranty, Danny .
They should still offer you some help/advice.

BT wanted to send out an engineer but I declined, as I would be liable for £130 if the fault lay with my phone and not the line. I think the older phone (2010) may just have reached the end if its useful life. Thanks anyway.
I have had a pair of Panasonic phones for over ten years without any problems.Perhaps you are due for a change.
