Lily In Pots Has Hole Is Leaves.?

found a small amount of black soil on them...Inside the soil is a small....smaller than a ladybird.. brown insect.. when you squash them they are full of liquid? what are they please.? I have a feeling they must be in the pots that is why covered in the soil.?

At a guess, it's not soil but excrement and what you've got inside it, producing that excrement, are the larvae of lily beetles:

Thankyou to you all.. Yes that is the little blighter... spray to kill ..i am doing now. x
Be careful with Provado. Its quite toxic and I found it doesn't work that well on Lily Beetles or Vine weevils
Lily beetles disguise themselves as bird poop, to avoid being eaten, which could account for the black soil you're seeing.
