Well I for one am very pleased that over a million pounds was spent investigating Ted Heath.

I think it was worth every penny for them to come to the conclusion that he would have been interviewed, and I can't wait for that to happen, and if the CPS agree, for him to be prosecuted.

Oh, hang on a minute......
And here's more crime fighting:

His whole persona gives you no confidence that he has what it takes to do anything meaningful.
Don't blame me gov, mixed with some whataboutery.
If there's something more amusing than reining in a galloping horse and climbing down from it then I can't wait to see it. :-)
It's all part n parcel, innit?

"That's really naive. People are concerned with hate crimes. People are not comfortable with the idea of minorities being physically assaulted by bigots. "

Nonsense, just becaue you probably live in a trendy area of London that does not make it the centre of the Universe. MOST people do not care, unless it comes to physical violence in which case it is covered by the type of Policing many are talking about.

"It's obvious there aren't enough police on the beat now ymb, you never see them."

Police on the beat have a very limited ability to aprehend todays criminals, in particular those on mopeds. Police are about, generally in cars so they can give chase so unless you happen to look in their direction for the 30 secs or less they pass you then you wont see them. The problem then comes of course in that they are not "allowed" to persue criminals in vehicles if it becomes dangerous for the criminal (remove helmet etc).

No - it’s because I know someone who was blinded in a homophobic attack. That’s what I mean by people being concerned about hate crime.

I don’t think targeted attacks on minorities is something that the majority of people don’t care about, whether or not they live in a trendy area.

SP, so see my post just above which covers yourscnario:
