Could anyone recommend a TV with a slot for putting a DVD in so we can have film shows?
I have a 32" one at home which is fine for me, but it would need to be bigger than that. Not costing too much either.

DONT buy a TV with an in built DVD player.

These DVD players often fail so you are then stuck with a TV that wont play DVDs.

Buy a TV and a separate DVD player.
Don't buy BUSH or ALBA TV's either, or any of the cheap junk available at knockdown prices, they won't last long. Buy a decent TV with separate DVD Player
I agree with both the above posts....and you're unlikely to find a big-screen TV with a built-in DVD player. And, if you do, it won't be worth having!
Just to add....I am a frequent visitor to an excellent care home which has four communal lounges, all with decent (Samsung) large-screen TVs with SEPARATE DVD players. Nuff said!
I'll back up the suggestion of buying a separate DVD player. As has been said, those built into TV sets often fail very quickly.

This might meet your needs for the TV:

or this:

(The latter model is only available from Richer Sounds stores, rather than online, but they've got branches in most parts of the country).

NB: You'll need one or more licences to show movies in a communal lounge:

PPS: Add on about £20 to £30 for a DVD player or perhaps £60 for a Blu-ray/DVD player (unless you really need 4K definition, in which case add on about £200). See the Argos catalogue or website to find something suitable.
