Canons Dpp V4.8

Is there a quick setup or a simple (default) settings for the latest Canon software? I was (almost) tempted to delete the latest version & install v.3.15 until I realised that that would have defeated the purpose :- v3.15 can't accommodate the complexity of the new formats, so I would have been in the same boat! I've downloaded the user manual and watched various videos on YouTube but I'm trying to find a "Dummies" version!
Any tips or settings for getting out of the starting blocks?

You've not told us what it is that you're seeking to achieve. If it's only basic editing of jpeg files then it would make sense to use a simpler image editor. If you're aiming to process RAW files then working through Canon's tutorial here might help:

Hi Beunchico,
That is exactly the info I was looking for! It's knowing where to look and how to phrase the question. I shoot(now) in RAW and intended to use the comprehensive program DPP to 'fine tune' any pictures that merit attention. The rest will be converted to JPG's for general use (keeping the original RAW files separate). I understand that the modern camera is a highly technical,sophisticated, computer-like machine,but having the ability to alter 'shape' here or a 'tint' there,to make the image that I saw,not what the computer thinks I should have seen-if that makes sense,is why I want to get to grips with DPP. It's just the layout and general work-flow that I was having trouble accommodating. Thanks for your direction,much appreciated.
