Morning all,

As I'm sure you're all aware, there are certain things in the news right now that aren't allowed to be reported on, and as such, we will be erring on the side of caution and removing any threads mentioning it.

Thank you in advance for your understanding!

Answerbank isn't a sentient being, Talbot.....
SpareEd.......no, you have better things to do, I will accept without question the decision that you have made.
That doesn't mean that I know what it was all about, but thanks for offering.
Pedantry jack

Anyone know the answer?
To be fair.....the question isn't terribly clear....
Talbot - you know what's going on, I know what's going on ... to suggest that you don't understand how the Editors could know is stretching your credibility to wafer thin levels ...

I can see where the Eds are coming from. There were a couple of posters at the weekend (who dont appear on this thread) who rather took the view that "there is freedom of speech so we can say what we like and when posts are removed we are going to start more and more threads comparing Ab Editor to the Stazi". The problem is that they seem to forget that they are expressing their views through the offices of AB who would be the ones in the firing line if things went a little pair shaped.

Should those people wish to make their views known, they are of course entitled to print it in 6 inch high letters and display it from their living room window, thereby accepting responsibility for any ramifications that exercising their "rights" might bring. But clearly ED has the last say as to what is displayed in HIS (or her) living room window.

Cue ---answer removed---
How can we discuss them if we don't know what they are? Is this some kind of subliminal OP?
//pair shaped.\\

LOL.
Wow, that was lightning fast.

Look, this thread is ridiculous. Just name the story you aren't permitting threads on rather than use all this vague language. The are no court/reporting restrictions on saying the guys name. It's in every damn newspaper in the country.
You're not supposed to discuss them......*That's* the point......

10ClarionSt - if you'd like me to explain, please contact me via email and I'll happily do so.
Fair point Jackdaw, my typo "pear shaped".

The trouble is, once people identify the new stories in question, there are a number of people on here who will naturally take it to the next level and start asking WHY and then the whole thing spirals. Again.

Anyone who wants further clarification, please email me.

I will now close this thread.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
It isn't "discussing" to say "no more threads on this specific subject." That's clarity. Saying "ooh don't you know there's a certain story that you may or may not have heard of which you can't post about here."

That's just inviting more discussion. It's the Streisand effect in miniature.
