the 4k restoration will doubtless include the renaming of Guy Gibson's dog. any bets as to what its factually inaccurate but politically correct name will be?

They often change the wording in films to appease the political correct. There is a line in West Side Story which in the stage version reads "My father is a bar steward my ma's an SOB". In the film this was changed to "My Daddy beats my Mummy". Bearing in mind this was to be said by a New York teenage street gang member it sounded ridiculous.

when the film played in America, the dog was always called Trigger.

We went to see it last night, Dan Snow almost wetting himself to explain that the dog's name wasn't changed but obviously wouldn't be acceptable now yadder yadder yadder. He looked quite upset and shocked when the audience applauded his announcement about the no change.
The certificate for it is now PG, 'racism and mild bad language'.
Interesting to see it on a big screen, it was a bit like being on a Disney simulator ride during the raids.
