When i turn the steering wheel of my car ; there is a rubbing/ squeaky/ whistling sound - not loud .

Any idea what might be the csuse ?

The shroud around the steering column's had a knock with a knee or whatever and is now rubbing on the wheel itself.
Is the noise inside the car or does it come from under the bonnet.
What car is it and does it have power steering?
Power-steering comes in two flavours; electric and engine driven. If engine-driven it could be a loose drive belt.

It seems to be coming from the steering wheel area
