I've just received a text message on my phone purporting to be from TSB. I have deleted it but it went something like this :

'We have identified recent unusual activity on your account, please contact https ..............
to avoid account suspension'.

As I don't have a TSB account I deleted the message without taking any further action. Was it a scam ?

Cheers.

yes deffo
the only unorthodox activity on TSB accounts is by TSB itself ! ( joke)
If you don't have an account with them then of course it was a scam!
Yes, these scams are all too common these days.

Many purport to be from HMRC, Barclays, BT and suchlike. Nearly always they ask for your account details.

HMRC would never need your account or credit card details and the others would already have your details if you held accounts with them.

Stay safe and never give your details out to anyone.

Thanks to you all.

Yes, Islay, it was obviously a fake message with evil intent, so I agree my last four words were unnecessary. Perhaps I should have asked if it was a phishing ploy to infect the phone and gather information.
I had one the other day from Santander. Do I have an account with them? No!
I once had one that said it was from the Ryoal Bank of Scotland.
I used to get them supposedly from Paypal, which usually started off with Dear Paypal user, the best one started Paypal dear.
apparently a couple of months ago i bought 3 dominos pizzas via paypal lol would i check a link to make sure it was me who bought it!!
It was you.
You were drunk at the time.
