Hi I have a very small business selling bespoke handmade fabric items and will be doing a few craft fairs this year, has anyone had any dealings with a Square.com card reader and have you any constructive comments about it?
I sort of have a feeling .... if it seems to be good to be true - it probably is. But having read right through the site I can't see the catch!
This might have had to go into the 'business' section or even 'technology' but you have to start somewhere!!

Hey. I got a take out yesterday and they used Square. It seems a modern nice, quite quick system. They took my card, put it into a small square and then i put my pin into their Ipad. It worked well and was efficient. I'm sure it would be fine.

There are lots of negative reviews about Square, both in the UK

and in the USA

Thanks for all your answers, spathiphyllum the only reason I looked into Square was that I hadn't heard of Stripe or Quixpay, I will look into them now.
We have been living abroad for 16 years and mobile technology has totally passed me by - the last I knew you could only pay by card in a shop!!
I will have a look at both you have mentioned, I assume there are pros and cons to both?
My phone is Android.
