They seem to be all the rage at the moment but how do they really compare with the corded ones ?
If you have one, would you go back and which brand is best ?

Can't say which is the best, but I have a cordless one and would not go back to a corded one.
Why call them cordless ,why not call them lead ,flex or cable less eh . bought wan for the car once awful . Still have not really replaced the wind up wans yet .
i agree, very convenient. Mind you i have mostly wooden floors dont think i'd want to go back to a corded vacuum
I have a Dyson. Love it!! So easy.
I have just lashed out on a dyson cordless and I love it.
I too lashed out on a dyson cordless, last spring. Haven't used my big dyson since.
Each time I use it I plug it in to charge, and empty it, so it's all ready to go next time I need it.
How long does the chargeable battery last and how much to replace. Please ?

We've had a Cordless Dyson Vacuum for about 18mths now, brilliant, just so easy, even I can use it :o(
Weecalf, depends on the make of the vacuum.
Dyson say
No idea weecalf, indefinitely I'd have thought. You'd have to replace the whole thing as you don't take the battery out, it's the complete unit which is plugged in.
There are different models of Dyson so battery life may vary.Try googling whichever machine you have in mind.
We have a Shark (I refuse to pay the silly prices Dyson ask). It is very powerful and so convenient. We still have our Shark mains powered vac as a spare.
I have a Gtech Mach air love it handle moves sideways or flat down for going under beds or furniture. Great machine in my eyes.
Most Dyson batteries are replaceable. It's a bit fiddly getting the batteries out of the unit but it can be done. I paid less than twenty pounds for a replacement battery pack for mine. The replacement packs are available on ebay.
Hi chip, I have the G tech air ram mk2
+ the hand held.
I have a dyson and use it during the week to clean up after the hounds but use my big one at the weekends - If I had just wooden floors then I would never use the big dyson again!
Your Answer...No, wouldn't go back to corded. I like the freedom of cordless.
