I am watching the re-runs of Dinnerladies on Yesterday.

It reminded me again just what a fantastic ear for dialogue Victoria Wood had, and how generous she was in sharing the amazing lines around her fabulous cast.

So many classic exchanges - Jean looking for a job as a 'light housekeeper' and misreading the newspaper ad looking for a 'lighthouse keeper' - comedy genius.

How sad we shall never have any more of that talent.

Loved Dinnerladies, watched every episode on Gold recently. Superb cast, I always liked the interaction between Bren and Tony wonderfully underplayed by Andrew Dunn.
I loved Dinnerladies and never tire of watching it, I hadn't realised that it was filmed in front of a live audience, the laughter wasn't canned. Some of the dialogue, especially between the ex Corrie group, was superb, some brilliant non sequiturs.
We saw her in her very early days at the Octagon in Bolton, we then drove via Leeds down to Felixstowe to get the ferry back to Germany and were still laughing when we arrived home.
