Alfie....Alder hey.

The posts on AB concerning his death describing his death as "BATTLING" has me completely confused. He was in a coma , couldn't hear, couldn't see, could n't swallow and as far as we know, could n't feel pain. So what was "battling" anything to do with his death.? What "show " did he put up, how did he struggle/ it baffles me that Abers and indeed anyone could describe him as a "battler."
Nurses, doctors, paramedical staff, modern medicine kept Alfie alive against the odds......these were the "battlers....not Alfie and what did they get for their efforts....abuse, jostling at the end of their shifts, called murderes, graffiti etched into the paint of their cars, the tyres let down, obscene telephone and emails messages, verbal abuse.

These are the battlers.......NOT Alfie.
Unfortunately this is not the end as we are doubtlessly going to encounter a "Ken Dodd" funeral for Alfie with horse drawn cortege being applauded to the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Liverpool.
During this despicable period other children in Alder Hey have been dying, the medical staff so badly abused continued saving other children's lives whilst their entrance to the hospital has been blocked .

This has been a national disgrace....many people including ABers should stand back, think what they have contributed and be.......thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

// battling, warrior or gladiator but those were the words his father used when referring to Alfie//

yeah gladiators have swords rather than shields
and no one hears that he is a little retiarius
( has a trident )

but it is the 'Pule for chrissakes - it is cold and rains alot up there
Totally agree with you Sqad.
And I wish they had thought of the impact on wildlife and the environment before they sent hundreds of balloons into the sky as well
