i am looking to buy one to drill some concrete. there are several on amazon for £50/£70. I do not want a heavyweight super professional model. weight shouLd not be too heavy for me to operate. I notice one at 8.9 kilos (20lbs) far too heavy. Anyone suggest something suitable bearing in mind price quality for diy work?

Have a look on this site. I have the same problem with using heavy power tools. I bought the lightest Bosch drill and a set of drills and chisels.
Melv has given you the link to the site I'd look at first.

6kg at the most. 5kg would be plenty for your needs. "Titan", "Einell", "Erbauer" are fine. They wouldn't take professional pounding for very long, but, for occasional use, good enough.
