As I said, your choice.
But I want to hear what your opinion.

Do you think it makes sense to challenge racism, or innocent/accidental racism - or do you think it’s better to say nothing?
I've given my opinion.

Interesting - I’ve always thought it’s better to challenge views, rather than turn the other cheek.

I’m sure your views on racism are built up through your own experiences. We all deal with bigotry differently.
The concept of ‘challenging’ “innocent/accidental racism “ is also ‘interesting’.
I would think that if we were all to start treating "racism" with honesty, and cant with disdain we may start to get somewhere. Unfortunately there is no mileage in honesty and certainly no compensayshun. It must be so tempting to up sticks from the wicked UK and move to a more enlightened civilisation.
Okay Togo.
"Firstly you have no idea of my personal experience..."

No, I don't. But then, isn't this exactly my point? You have no idea of Anita Sethi's personal experiences, and yet apparently her reaction is objectively invalid -- at least, as far as you appear to see it. Is it possible that there is some context to the incident that you are missing, that would change the picture greatly?

I agree that there is something to be said for brushing aside insults, as far as possible, but I don't think that it's right to criticise those who, for whatever reason, take such to heart. Maybe it's one "joke" too many; maybe it was clearly not a joke after all; maybe one of a myriad other reasons that makes getting upset rather more reasonable than you give it credit for.

Also, as sp says, there's more to racism than intent. Not everyone thinks before they speak.
I've had this loads - more so when i was younger, people would ask where i was from, if I said the town i was living in they would respond usually with no i meant where are you from as in what country. I'd usually say belgium as that would confuse them and amuse me. It is irritating, i'm strangely brown so the assumption (by some people) is i'm not british.
lol Fluffy !!
Jim, //You have no idea of Anita Sethi's personal experiences//

I think I have a bit of an idea of her experiences. She managed to squeeze the publicity she wanted out of this.

You should leave it now. You’re making yourself look bad.
SP, in your eyes because I disagree with you. Never a problem for me, SP. I neither require nor crave the endorsement of others.

I don’t really know why we have to say any words at all, . is it not just possible to weigh events up in ones own mind and assess the impact on our daily lives?
Well, said talbot.

On this occasion, it’s just as well. When I read jim360’s response, I made that sound that mechanics make when you take your car in and ask how much it’s going to cost to replace a head gasket.

That sucking sound through the teeth.

My nephews have a term for it.

‘Schooled’.
Is there, perhaps, a hint of irony in the fact that Naomi is clearly AB's premier "mansplainer"?
But seriously naomi24, jim360’s post from 13:43 is spot on. Your follow-up was not good at all.

That’s not objective, but...y’know...it’s pretty accurate.
SP/Jim, Crikey! That sounds a bit trendy! However, fortunately for me trendy I am not – it comes from not following the herd - so I’ve no idea what either of you are talking about - but not to worry. You’ve clearly adopted that last resort of attacking the messenger but you’re wasting your time because, as you should know by now, it’s all water off a duck’s back to me. Carry on seeking offence at every turn and getting your knickers in a twist over the mentality of idiots if that’s what you want to do. The damage you’re doing to your bottom lips really isn’t my problem chaps. ;o)
I'd happily attack the message, but you never seem to have one :)
