OK, I am off to Marrakech in the beginning of May, but only for 3 days. Any suggestion about what to visit, what to eat and what to drink etc will be appreciated. Also what to avoid?

Thanks.

Ok, sorry, Sheep's stomach and brain. I have taken your advice and already booked a return taxi. Now you can't say that I never act upon an advice from you. Thanks.
Well done, Keyplus. You know taking my advice always makes sense. ;o)

When you get there you'll find loads and loads of taxi drivers outside the airport holding boards with names. You'll need to look very carefully for yours - there are so many. If you've booked with the company I recommended, your man will probably be standing somewhere to your left. You can change money in the airport so you have something to tip your driver with and hopefully enough to last the duration of your visit. Changing money is not cheap in Morocco so it's best to do it all in one hit if you can. Depending on the restaurants you use you can spend a little or a lot, but you can check prices on-line to gauge your approximate expected spend. Marrakech is a vibrant, busy, bustling city, and far more modern than you might expect. Do let me know how you get on. I hope you have a nice time.

Thanks Naomi.
You're welcome. :o)
have a good one

if you like Marrakesh and the Marrakshis - they're the people who live in M - then later on try Egypt - more civilised but hot at present ( 30'C)

get your son to order alcohol and you will get some....
PP, //later on try Egypt - more civilised //

You've clearly not seen much of Egypt.

Keyplus won't want alcohol - he's Muslim - but if he did as I said it's available in major supermarkets ..... also in a few bars and restaurants.

Peter, I had to deal with a few Egyptians when I went to Saudi Arab last year for Umrah, I am sure anyone could be more civilized than Egyptians I met.
