I have recently been to a care home in Scotland the majority of the residents were in a sad state surely when the quality of life has gone it’s time to let them go,drooping on a chair and drooling from the mouth no idea of what is going on what kind of way is that to treat our elderly

No way do I want to end my days a drooling peeing burden - or knowing that the pain is never going away, or someone has to wipe by backside till I finally can't breathe or move - I hope I still have enough nous to take the decision when its time to go. Wouldn't do it to a dog, so wouldn't want it happen to me.

At the moment I am reading 'Being Mortal' by Atul Gawande. If any one wants to get an idea ''on what kind of way...to treat our elderly'' they might find this book very interesting and informative.
