what are the side effects if any in taking this medicine
i took two yesterday morning and haven't been to the loo since, is it
supposed to do that, because i am in pain.

Jack you are correct, it was suggested because of the loose bowels, which they aren't at the moment.
Well I am sorry Sqad but she is presenting with side effects that are classed as rare - hence I feel that she should phone out of hours.
But as I have said before I am not a trained professional or Medical admin so I will walk away now before I am rude to you!
Whenever I have taken this I don't visit the loo again for about 5 days so I think it's a normal effect to slow you up - that's what it's for isn't it?

prudie, i guess but considering the running to the loo i have been doing and now nothing at all, not to mention the pain in the gut area.
As you already have Movicol to hand, why not try some of that?
Stopping the Loperamide should allow your bowels to become looser again, I do agree it seems to have been an odd choice in the lead up to your procedure.

If the pain doesn't settle seek advice as soon as possible.

Hopefully the colonscopy will bring some results for you.

had to call the out of hours doctor, in too much pain in the gut and abdomen area, hope this doesn't continue, turns out also have a urine infection, to add to the problems.
emmie glad you called the out of hours quack - what did they say caused the pain?
