Went to the Playhouse Theatre, Edinburgh last night to see the Roy Orbison Hologram Show. Although the singing and the backing by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra was fabulous, I was slightly uneasy about the "man" on stage. I know it was a hologram found it all a bit spooky.

The Big O is my all-tinme favourite. Haven't seen the hologram version and I'm not sure I'd like to. I'll content myself with seeing the Barry Steele tribute act and listening to the real thing.
I too was a fan of the Big O. Although he had an extensive vocal range it was the powerful orchestral backing which transformed his songs.
My generation. Loved him then.

Fast forward to the funeral of my boss (younger than me) who died shortly after I retired. Traditional liturgy absent.
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. Followed by Travelling Wilburys? Who they?

Ah, three out of five ain't bad. RIP Mssrs Orbison, Petty and Harrison.

Think Jeff Lynne wrote this (with big O especially in mind).
Not forgetting (but often forgotten) the drummer Jim Keltner.
Haven't seen the term 'Messrs' for yonks. At one time it was the fashion, when listing men, to begin with 'Messrs' followed by their surnames. The corresponding term for ladies was 'Mesdames'.

Not at all. But he never became a named Wilbury, did he?
Bonne nuit, messieurs-dames. Bonne nuit à tous.
I know - but I often throw that in as a trivia-type question. The 'End of the line' clip is poignant, featuring Roy O's guitar in a rocking chair.

Have seen Barry Steele...Very good !
Morning Minty. Seeing him again in October, for the fourth time. Boogie Williams is also very good.
For anyone who wants to see how the holographic Big O looks . . .
