My front windows of the house which are Georgian and very big ie like shop windows - are now having condensation between the double glazing.

Is there anything I can do before I have to replace the windows.

It looks like the seals are 'blown' . Look in your local paper for companies that replace the sealed units.

Thanks Margo - I don't know what you mean by the sealed units.

I have just googled and now I know what you mean
They replace the glass not the frames, our local one is called Cloudy2clear! If you google condensation between Double glazing it should give your local firms. Look for the Which trusted trader sign.
There are companies which replace just the glass in double-glazed windows, while retaining the existing frames. The most well-known (by far) is Cloudy2Clear but their website doesn't show any branches in Northern Ireland.

There was a franchise of that company operating from Carrickfergus [as 'Cloudy2Clear (Belfast) Ltd'] but that company has now been dissolved. However there's a chance that the guy who owned the franchise might still be trading independently, so get someone to call him for you [I'm remembering your hearing difficulties here] on his mobile number: 07743 986505

Alternatively look through your local Yellow Pages, or other trade directories, for a firm offering a similar service.

Thanks Chris - I talked to my neighbour there as I recall there were guys doing something to her windows before Christmas. The hubby said he wasn't too sure but will get the wife to leave me a number. I think they replaced sealant. Not too sure.

Will take note of your information and thanks to everyone else.
