Does anyone else out there remember back to 50's i think when frozen peas became available. Not having a freezer I remember being sent to the butchers with a jug to get a pint of peas!
Am I imagining it? My lot think I am going senile

Anyone remember 'Home & Colonial' Another shop name from the past ? I think that Home & Colonial may have changed its name to Fine Fare, when the 'Colonial' bit became non PC.
I remember it well. Also Walter Wilson's and the London and Newcastle tea company.
Yep, I remember Home and Colonial ( just about )EDDIE.
And Timothy Whites, I think Boots bought them out.

As children it was our job to wash the peapods, then shell the peas and mum used to make soup with the pods.
I remember taking a pint pot to get black peas rom a man who used to travel around on a pedal bike with a sort of container attached and the peas were hot.
