I didn't want to divert the thread in News, but have had a disconcerting thought. (please bear with me)

If (and it's a big if) the recipient of the spit had had their mouth open at the time and received the dosage and the spittee had been eating peanuts and the recipient was allergic to nuts, could that have caused an anapyhilactic (sp) shock ?

(I have too much time on my hands)

Albs - the police use 'spit hoods' on people who they are arresting/detaining if they are being spat at - there is a danger of HiV and/or Hepatitis being passed on in the spittle.
Not really about spitting but I was in hospital recently and my daughter came in to visit and had some Walnut Whips for me and all of a sudden she said Oh goodness or words to that effect , you cant have them . She realised that the staff had put notice on ward door asking visitors not to bring in anything that had nuts in it as a staff member was allergic to nuts, of course that choc had a nut inside .
