Just got this on my iPad - can anyone tell me how to get rid of the annoying adverts for other games that pop up? Thankyou so much, I will be forever grateful!

The only way that you can do that is to upgrade to the paid version. From the FAQs for the game:

Or, before you load the game, put the iPad into airplane mode. The adverts can't get through if there's no internet connection.
