The estate agent has just rung me to let me know the potential buyers want to go to the property on Saturday to measure up. Surely the estate agent will accompany them - won’t they?
My son is having kittens - he thinks the sale is going to fall through.
I’m more relaxed about it. The potential buyer apparently works at an estate agent ( not mine) so I was mildly suspicious about a few ‘tricks of the trade’ being played. I shall just stick to my guns though and be prepared to re-list if necessary

I'd have lost patience ages ago...you want it..you pay..you get on with any removals..sight as seen take it or leave it..pay up and shut up or there's the door !!
really though murraymints, it's only been agreed for about 2 weeks which is very short for a house sale - how quickly would you have got fed up??

The reason it had new carpets and was freshly decorated was because I was going to rent it out and then thought I'd try to sell as well. I have not mentioned to you all that the temp controls on the radiators need replacing - my son knocked them off and I just placed them back on so they looked like they were attached - I guess that's going to come back and bite me at some stage
Why do they want the shower screen removed? It'll look a mess with all the holes in the tiles on show. My bet is they're going to rent the property and are going to replace it with a curtain for health and safety reasons.
Right away with the petty demands !
they're not really demands are they though, they are asking if ric can accomaodate them, and ric is free to say no
If you are selling with Vacant Possession then you should remove the blinds if your buyer doesn't want them.
They might charge you for storage if you don't LOL.
Sight as seen...means just that
I think most if not all houses in the UK are sold with Vacant Possession unless otherwise specified.
I always sold as seen...saved all this trivia !
Blimey, most of the time the haggling begins because most buyers want everything and the dog thrown in, not taken out. They are to my mind, pushing it a little bit too much for my liking. They are financially invested though, as they've paid for a survey, so may not walk away to quickly if you don't meet their demands.

The last house I sold, the buyer was a needy demanding idiot. I put it back on the market in the end because he did my head in. I sold again that day and we exchanged contracts the next.
It's usual for buyers and sellers to agree on what goes and what stays. I certainly would not want anyone else's "rubbish" left for me to sort out and dispose of. That happened once and I immediately phoned my solicitor who got the money for the removal of the "rubbish" from the seller. That's why it's a good idea to complete on a working day so you can get hold of solicitors etc.

An Update - to be honest not much has happened over the weekend. I presume they have had the results from the survey and I was expecting a call from the estate agent but nothing as yet (just watch - the phone will start ringing now). I guess it’s sit and wait
Question Author
Another update - my completion date is 13 April. The buyers wanted the week before but I have a house sitter and felt it was unfair not to give him a longer time to get a new place. Now to contact British Gas and council tax - can anyone think who else?
