Dont Know What To Do

just got back home from A&E. Was woken in the early hours by shouts and screaming. BOTH my son and his girlfriend had slashed their arms/wrists. My son was out of control and punching doors and walls, called police and ambulance. Paramedics seemed to think that he had broken his knuckles. Went hospital with them but after waiting 2 hours they walked out and rang a taxi.
Cuts on both are quiet deep. Son very tearful saying that he doesn't want to live.
I'm at my wits end because I don't know what to do, I'm struggling with my own mental health at the moment as well, but concerned for both of them.
Just needed to get this of my chest, don't know where to turn.

Did you ask them about what happened, Nails? Was it some kind of suicide pact?

Tills, just seemed to have been some kind of moment of madness on both parts (or at least from what I can glean)
Just cant get to the bottom of it. His GF is recovering from leukimia as well, shes only 25 (my son is 22 in a few weeks).
Had another phone call from him, he is still trying to get home. He has shattered his finger, knuckles seem to be ok but bruised.

Tills, he and GF are back home now. Yes, hes shattered one finger(ring), broke in serveral places. Knuckles seem to be ok.

Kudos to you Nailit for finding the strength to deal with this, you are a lot stronger than you had thought. Brilliant job, and I hope things work out for you.

It’s certainly tough being you but your son has a great dad, they seem to be in a close relationship and has beat leukaemia so they have everything to live for.

They need a long deep talk once everyone’s well rested and in a better frame of mind.

I also want to congratulate you, nailit. There have been times when you would not have coped with this. You are stronger than you thought - and I'm sure you will all come through this. P.S. The finger should heal OK, he's young.
