The Ed’s techs has done something with the adverts so that appears to be the problem as I don’t understand how just mentioning a sites name leads other users to be attacked and not the one that used it,

If you actually do want to understand, then you should read some of the very decent in-depth analysis written on other threads here - it's not quite rocket science, but it does require some knowledge about ad-serving and site-scraping.

Bookbinder - I don't know if the actual problem has been solved - I was merely reporting that the accidental use of the trigger word appeared to have been dealt with.

Unfortunately i had to skim those threads as I’m not that well read on adware, spyware and viruses which this thing may or not be but it was fascinating to be in the middle of this in real time as usually I just read about things like this do to be caught up in something mysterious was exciting and a real eye opener especially seeing how this thing evolved and changed tactics although I know the sites management and those affected would disagree ( sorry)
