I have this, and i have also learned that its often associated with hormonal disorders -
I also have PCOS. I also have Hypermobility.

Does anyone know whether this can cause one eye to bulge?
My optician confirmed that one of my eyes appears to be about 2mm further forward than the other and although you wouldnt notice it to look at me, I notice it, obviously and i also notice the slight difference in appearance between the 2 eyes.
I only really mentioned it to them because i get an ache in that eye and the sensation of feeling the need to press on it ... like i can feel it bulging.

I was tested at the hospital over a few years to see if it was getting any thicker and it seemed not to be, it was a pretty stable thickness, so the matter was dropped, unless i have any more symptoms etc.

I cant seem to find much about bulging in just one eye - it all seems to be about various diseases that causes bulging in both - but proper, obvious bulging.

Wondered if sqad may know something? or direct me how to narrow down what im looking for info - theres loads of things!

NB: my optician has referred me for tests, so i will find out at some point what it is, but for the moment i'm just curious if it could be down the the Hyperostosis Frontalis Interna

thanks

Morgagni-Stewart-Morel syndrome (Hyperostosis Frontalis Interna)

LOL...very very rare and well outside of sqad's league.

BUT...for what it is worth....I cannot convince myself that there is any connection between the syndrome and one side eye bulging ( unilateral proptosis)
The commonest cause is an overactive thyroid for which you will need blood tests.
If these are unhelpful then it will be an MRI scan to exclude conditions that may push the eye forward.
That is my lot on the subject.
