Not been able to drive out since being sent home from work Thursday lunchtime and Friday is usually shopping day. We have 3 slices of bread, about a cup of milk and disastrously run out of tea. Cat food and ciggies will run out tomorrow, Anyone else running short on essentials?

What is a Sanquhar pattern, please?
Just googled it, Clover.

Thanks, Tilly. I googled but nothing came up, for some reason.
How on earth do they manage to knit those patterns? Amazing.
I knew it could be bad so stocked up. A finally, it's not too bad locally but it's good to know I haven't got to go out.
Why did I think Prudie lived in Spain with sqad?

Well , not actually living with him if you see what I mean
Arucaria was my favourite setter, too, and Yes - I have cut out crosswords so we always have some in a cupboard!
Araucaria, an ordained priest, when he knew he was dying of cancer compiled a crossword in which certain answers revealed his condition.
Yes, he was vicar at, I think, Long Preston in the Dales- route from Skipton to Lancashire. I always gave a respectful nod when I drove past the vicarage.
nope, got my stuff before the snow fell, and have an order in for next week, hopefully the snow or most in the capital will have gone away by then

Well it's melted enough for us to get in the car and get to Tesco in Dorchester - OMG you'd think it was Christmas eve, place was heaving, queuing down the aisles for a checkout. I waited 25 minutes just to use a self-service till. Awful.

For Bazile I have holidayed on sqad's island of Menorca twice a year for years, just a coincidence really so we have always met up each time I visit.
I managed to walk to the corner shop , all the bread had gone...but they had plenty of wine (phew !)
Araucaria and Bunthorne were my favourites.
No, we live in the country so we hoard everything because it's a good few miles to the nearest decent shop, so we always have a ton of stuff in the pantries, and we have a breadmaker if we run low in the bread freezer, powdered milk for Zombie Apocalypses, the little girls up the lane keep chickens so eggs within walking distance and so much frozen soup from the summer you could feed a football stadium.
Mrs Smug is no longer quite so smug having just run out of heating oil..............
I've run out of Magnum ice creams - got a large bar of mint aero round the shop (which was heaving but the shelves were empty).
Yeah we'll be out of oil before the end of the weekend, we've got log fires though, but bad planning on my part and I'll have to bleed it if I let it run out, glad you reminded me of that Barmaid :(
I'm decamping to the OH's for the night. It's going to warm up tomorrow but its perishing here atm.
