I'm thinking to buy some wireless headphones, but all I seem to read - unlessyou ABers know differently - are headphones with Blue Tooth. Does this mean that what device I'm listening to, be it CD player or TV or whatever, has to have Blue Tooth fitted as well or do the Blue Tooth headphones work independently? Ta Muchly.

All you need is a Bluetooth adapter fitted to the device, be it laptop, cd player or tv. Your blue tooth headphones then hook up to the adapter. You can even switch the adapter between devices.
Hi Wooldelf
you can get wireless headphones that come with a base, that plugs into your media device and the device communicates with the headphones, i don't think they are bluetooth, not sure how it works, magic possibly :-) look for RF wireless headsets.

hope you are well
This one is quite versatile. If you want it primarily or exclusively for a pc or laptop you can get one with usb connectivity.

I have a pair of Sony wireless (Bluetooth) headphones that I use with a laptop, TV, CD player, old (but good) amplifier etc and none of these has Bluetooth built-in. I purchased a Bluetooth sender/receiver (you can also get a sender-only) dongle....similar to this. The big advantage of these dongles is that they can be easily transferred to any non-Bluetooth euipment which you can then listen to, wirelessly.

Why buy Bluetooth headphones?
The ordinary ones e.g Sony, work well with just a router.....which comes in the pack.
The headphones with base still need a Bluetooth enabler fitted to the device, if it is not already Bluetooth enabled.
^^^it seems woodelf want to listn to the sound from TV, CD player, amplifier etc....NOT streaming from a phone or tablet, which is what Togo's Amazon link is for.
//Plug the adapter into any A/V receivers and any powered speakers using standard RCA or 3.5mm jacks.//
That enabler is compatible with most audio devices gingebee. It will work from tv, amp, cd player, laptop etc etc.
A customer review.
//This Bluetooth adapter is a great little gadget that's ideal for connecting Bluetooth devices to legacy equipment.
We've got the reciever hooked up to a technics HiFi and we've used it with ease with a few smart phones, laptops and our TV.//
