Hi All,

My fiance and I have been engaged for years and have finally decided to set a date and plan the wedding. The only thing is, I have no idea where to start!! We have talked about where we want to get married, ie Church? Registry Office? Hotel etc etc but we cant decide, we dont want to get married in a registry office but we are not sure about a church or hotel either. What sort of places can you have a wedding ceremony in? We want something a bit different that isnt going to be too expensive.

Also, once we have decided that, where do we go from there? There is just so much to think about that it is already making my head spin!! We want to do it on a small budget I will be searching the internet for useful tips but any advice and help would be very much appreciated!!

Thank you in advance

you need to first decide the venue, go around different places and ask for their wedding service leaflets and prices. If you are wanting to marry in Church you can do the same. Most weddings need at least 2 years planning depending on the venue availability.
What about marrying abroard, it can be half the price and then have a do back home later.
The key is lists, lots of them. If you go to a wedding fayre locally you will be blinded with the commerciality and so avoid them if you are on a budget.
Keep all aspects of the plan oin seperate A4 files, the venue, the guests list, the dress, the flowers, the transport, this means that you can collect lots of leaflets and details and make each file a selection process.
There really is no chance of rushing a marriage unless you go for the regsiter office.
Also google for wedding forums and join them , they are really helpful ...good luck on all your planning ,its hard work but nice as well

Blimey........I didnt realise I was 'rushing it' by trying to arrange a year ahead!

If we go for an unusual venue, like a zoo say, then is it more likely that we will have the option to book a date for next year and not have to wait until the year after?
any wedding venue has to have applied for and been granted a license to have weddings within it's walls. It is quite costly and i would imagine alot of zoos would not have prioritiesed it or budgeted for it. Some football stadiums have liceneses though.
actually scrap that, just done a quick search of zoos and Chester Zoo do seem to have a way of offering a wedding within their boundaries, though not the actual zoo i think:

That might be useful, but like i said, most saturdays in most GOOD venues should be booked up by now til 2012, if they aren't then they are second rate.
It's the best decision taken by both of you. If you want to decide the date, place, and other plans then hiring a wedding planner is the better options for you. As we all know wedding comes only once in your life and everyone wants to make this moment memorable. I also hired a wedding planner form https://vegasweddingsplanner.com/ They planned everything in the proper manner and helped me a lot to make my wedding ceremony memorable. You can also do the same.
