What does it say in the terms and conditions of your policy. There’s no blanket answer.
As Zacs says, you must read the Ts & Cs of your policy.

Every insurer without exception will want to know your driving record upon proposal and renewal. Many (most I should say) require you to tell them of any prosecutions between renewals. One (the Admiral Group) even requires you to tell them of any "Speed Awareness Courses" you have taken.
just tell them - if you are supposed to great, if you don't have to well then they wont care
I told my insurance company when the OH got 3 points. They weren't very interested, but made a note for renewal, which also made little or no difference.
And of course the downside of not telling them is that they can refuse cover in the event of an accident. If you are lucky this may leave you facing a charge of driving with No Insurance; if you are less fortunate you may end up with a bill for many thousands or even tens of thousands of pounds.
No, Some Insures ask, some don't, it's up to you to declare it.
